Why slim-shoppin?

I named my site slim-shoppin, because this time losing weight, I am a lot smarter about what I put in my cart.  It’s kind of like Jared losing weight with Subway, he lost the weight eating veggie foot longs, but he was overweight originally because of the poor choices he made at subway! 

Its really hard to navigate through the grocery store when people are so busy, don’t have time to read a ton of labels, and frankly, if you are trying to lose weight for the first time, you may not even know what’s out there! 

I love grocery shopping!  I love finding new figure friendly products to help me along my journey. My long term goal with this, is I would like to set up grocery store tours in the Chicagoland area where I live, and in an hour, take people around the store and point out all of my favorite foods finds that have helped me so far.  How many times do you hear about something, but you can never find it!  In addition to the tour, I would offer coupons for products and a list of all the foods, and a recipe booklet. 

For me, that would be the best, to help other people “navigate the aisles” save time and money and help others lose weight too!

    Could you come to Mass. and do grocery tours as well? I NEVER can find what I am looking for in the supermarket healthy or not!! If your every in the area, I can always use the help! :)

    I have found that is the biggest problem for people! You hear about things, or maybe you don’t even know something exists, yet you spent way too much time in the store not being able to find what you are looking for. Once I make it “big” I’ll start spreading the country! Ha!

    Maybe you’ve had it already but I recently discovered it. I suggest laughing cow light swiss cheese. It’s in the fridge cheese section (not the designer cheeses) in a pie shaped tub. It’s 35 calories of spreadable, creamy cheese.

    It’s green :) It’s delicious :D

    Oh I love laughing cow cheese. I make grilled cheese sammies with them! Its so funny, because the wedge looks so tiny, but it goes really far! Thanks Nicole!

    A great shortcut I have for shopping better when I don’t have much time, is to take a quick look at the ingredients list. It should be short and with words that I know.

    I love the idea of the grocery tours – they would be so much fun!! :) I love looking for new grocery products too – my friends think I am crazy for enjoying the supermarket!

    I love your idea of the grocery tour! I think there would be a ton of people out there willing to pay for something so useful.
