The Hundred Workout/Day 17
2011
So in a quest to mix things up workout wise, I did a workout called The Hundred Workout – and this is what it entails:
My sister e-mailed me this workout last week and so I thought I would give it a try. It seemed like it would be easy enough – ummm.. it was hard!!! It took me 40 minutes to finish this workout. The hardest part was the 100 jumping jacks – and then the squats. I made sure I was tightening my muscles for each one – I couldn’t believe how hard it was!
For the leg lifts, I really wasn’t sure what they meant by that, so I just stood straight up and then lifting each leg in front of me, tightening my thigh muscles each time.
For the 10 minutes I was just going to jog in place but after 2 minutes of that it seemed like it was going to take forever so I decided to finish it by jogging around my block. I haven’t run in forever and it seems impossible that I ever ran 26.2 miles when trying to run around my block without stopping seemed like a long way to go! Isn’t that funny? But I made it 3/4 of the way without stopping and walked the rest of the way.
All in all it was an excellent workout, it works out pretty much your whole body. Have you ever tried this workout before or even heard of it? I think this would be a great workout if you are travelling and don’t have access to a gym – you could do this without any special equipment.
My plan today is to ride my bike to work and do some sort of video tonight – I have exercise TV on demand so I have tons to choose from. Have a great day everyone, I’m off to chop veggies for salad club at work today

I’ve never heard of this workout before. I think this would be a perfect workout for someone who might want to workout while traveling.
From my high school days (I was young once), leg lifts were…
lay on your back, lift both legs ONLY the height of a closed fist (and the bastard gym coaches would come around and measure). hold for the count of 5 and do it all again… MUCH harder than lifting higher… I hated those

I googled leg lift and got 5 different exercises! My first thought was that you lay on your side and lift your leg up.
I’ve never heard of this workout, but it sounds great. Reminds me a lot of Jillian’s Banish Fat Boost Metabolism video. It’s all with your own body weight and it kicks my butt every single time!
Awesome streak with your exercising!!! Keep it up!

That workout reminds me of what we used to do at my group workouts sometimes – it’s a fun way to change things up…and next time you do it, you can see if your time improves.

One of my friends recently started doing this and she said that it’s by far the hardest workout she’s ever done. I think I’m going to try it when it stops being either rainy or ridiculously hot outside.
