Baked pumpkin donuts

Thanks to Megan from www.megansmunchies.blogspot.com who frequents my brothers site www.backtothefridge.com, I found this recipe she posted from www.cooks.com for baked pumpkin donuts. There is a farmers market in my town that makes fresh donuts every Saturday and the line is super long.  But when you get there, they are warm, (fried), and dipped in cinnamon and sugar.  Its like the best thing you’ve put in your mouth. I never thought of baking donuts!  The best thing about this recipe is that it was definitely worth making. They were light, moist, and just the right amount of pumpkiny flavor.  I drizzled the top with a nice glaze, or you could certainly add sugar and cinnamon op top before baking.  The recipe also called for a pastry bag to pipe out the batter onto the baking sheet, but I didn’t have that, so I used a quart size Zilpoc bag, put the batter into it, snipped a small corner and squeezed it from there.

It was so good, with a hot cup of tea!!  And it took less than a half hour from start to finish!

Glad they turned out so well! Great idea to use a ziploc bag!

I love doughnuts and I have pumpkin that I froze from last year just staring at me and begging to be used.
