5 buck Friday – My week re-cap

I can’t believe it’s Friday already! Another week has flown by. It’s been a great week for me eating wise and exercising wise, so I’m very happy about that.

I’ve survived the treats at work – gourmet popcorn, cookies as big as my face, homemade brittle, fudge, leftover sandwiches and chips. I just kept telling myself that it will be gone if I wait long enough and it also helped not walking by the food table too. My co-worker had a great idea – for the big ass tins of gourmet popcorn – he said that he imagines dirty hands going in and picking out popcorn and that its a major germ fest – so now I’m going to visualize that as well!

Instead of succumbing to treats – I got my walking shoes on and went walking 3 days during my lunch work. I also walked home 3 days and ran several miles and I worked out with Billy Blanks for 50 minutes – THEN jumped rope for 5 minutes.

I had forgotten I have this great jump rope. It’s from Sports Authority. You can set the time for how long you want to jump rope for – the best part, is the timer stops when you stop jumping so it’s hard to cheat! I set it for 5 minutes and let me tell you that is hard! I thought I was getting close to done and I wasn’t even half way – but I finished and felt great. Where did I jump rope? In my backyard at 9:15 p.m. in 27 degrees :)

My thought is I am pretending like I am in the final 3 of the Biggest Loser and the finale is January 1st. So I’m pushing myself to do things outside my comfort zone and making better choices so I will actually weigh less than I am now come January – I think that’s a great way to start 2012!

And I’m starting a 5 buck Friday. I mentioned earlier this week that my husband and I are running the Christi Clinic Marathon (I’m doing the half marathon) in April and we are raising money for Team in Training to help fight blood cancers.

Do you have an extra $5.00 to donate today? Our fundraising page is HERE – it only takes a few minutes! I thank you in advance for your donation!

And there are a few days left to enter the MUIR GLEN give a way I posted a few days ago to win 4 cans of reserve tomatoes from Muir Glen. CLICK HERE to leave a comment to be eligible.

Also, my friend Kristina is having a give a way on her blog today – check it out to enter

What are your plans this weekend? David and I are going to do a longer run Saturday and I hope to start some Christmas shopping – yes I am a procrastinator!!
