150 calorie home made cinnamon roll!

cinnamon roll

I kept thinking about trying to make cinnamon rolls with the pizza dough my sister makes. I had no idea if it would work or not, but I decided to give it a try. The dough is simple and it doesn’t need to rise:

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup flour
1 cup warm water
2 ¼ tsp. of yeast

Add the flour to the mixer, in a separate bowl add the water and yeast and stir together. Add that to the flour and beat with a dough hook for about 2-3 minutes.

I measured my dough out into 3 oz. pieces.

Then, I just rolled it into a rectangle, added cinnamon and sugar, rolled it up and then pulled the ends around to meet and pinched them together.

I did brush it with egg white and sprinkle the top with raw sugar before baking. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.

I tried one when it was right out of the oven and it was great! If I had confectioner’s sugar I would have made a glaze to go on top. I was also thinking you could even slice some apple and roll that in there too!

And, now on to weigh in Friday…..Not so good, I gained a pound this week!

But, I really didn’t watch what I was eating over the Labor Day weekend, and I only exercised three times, but I’m still going!!

Have a great Friday everyone!!
